| - My better half and I ate the summer-lunch prix fixe menu in the bistro. The best meal we've ever had for under $20/person. My meal started with a tomato and fresh mozzarella salad, then I had the steak entree, and a wonderful mango sorbet/cherry ice/rhubarb sauce dessert. The wifey had the cous-cous salad, the halibut entree, and the same dessert. The dessert alone merits special mention because I never had anything like that. It was truly one of the best, if not the best, desserts I've ever had. Truly wonderful.
Including pelligrino, tax, and tip, the total bill came out to under $60. It was a steal. I paid more than double that for dinner at Olives and, when compared, concluded that Payard was the better dining experience for the $. And I really enjoyed my dinner at Olives.
