| - I was showing a friend of mine Push Models and thought it would be fun to post my own review about them.
First, a bit about me:
I own two local computer stores and have been helping Jonathan and Dustin with their computers for years. I also have a program called "Computers for Soldiers" which is designed to provide low-cost computers to the troops. As a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm, I know how important it is for troops to stay in contact with their families. Anyway, I started the program and Jonathan asked me if there were anything he could do to help. I told him the only thing I needed was a logo and THAT DAY he had one of his guys design one. You can see it if you search for my program (don't want people to think I'm pimping out my business or I'd put in the URL). He didn't charge me, just said he wanted to contribute and was glad to do so.
This is just one example and but I could go on and on. My wife and I have gotten to know Jonathan well, probably because of our shared interest in business and entrepreneurship, and I know he has instituted some pretty rigid rules to keep things above-board.
I know that it's a termination offense for one of his employees to represent himself as having any authority to hire or fire. My wife and I went to one of the meet-and-greets and had an absolute blast. The atmosphere was fun, everyone there seemed happy.
Jonathan is a great guy, with a great character, and I know he wouldn't allow anything unethical to take place.
The most obvious reason why is that it's bad business. In any industry, people talk and you can't grow a company if you treat the employees badly.
But any business is an organic enterprise and we design policies and procedures to handle new situations. At my stores we have sheets that customers use to sign-in computers and every single box on that sheet is the result of an experience we had, some good, some bad. For example, we have a line where people sign that they have picked up their computer. We added it because someone said they hadn't gotten their computer and wanted a new one to replace it. Good thing we have video cameras :)
I hope this review of the company is helpful. I'm not a long-term reviewer on this site -- I just signed up and it's a blast. I guess the best way to sum up is that I'm more than comfortable recommending friends of mine to work for Push Models. They're good guys.
