  • I will never get any services with this company again. I hated the previous time I had with Cox and it was so bad trying to get internet service again, I had to cancel before even getting the internet hooked up. The first time I had Cox, I would have internet outages all the time at my house. These were the worst during the summer months. I would maybe have the internet on for a solid 15 minutes when the modem would go out and I would have to reset the modem. I called many times about this and if I ever got past the "unplug your modem" rep, I would get techs to come out. They replaced cable lines and I was still having issues. Their best response? "Oh maybe your neighbor is sending feedback into the box and that's why your internet is suffering" This might have been true, but what kind of response is that? So I have to suffer because their infrastructure can't handle internet usage from a neighbor? So when I moved, I went with Century Link. Moved back into that house and called to have the internet set up. This was on a Monday, so the rep said a tech will release the cable trap on Tuesday. Not a professional install, just a self install. The tech would release the trap whenever he swings around, I don't have to be home for that, and I should have access to internet. I get a call five minutes later stating that the rep was wrong about the date, it'll be Wednesday. I get home Wednesday, no internet. I wait until Thursday. No internet. I call. They said the tech went out but because the utility pole is in a neighbor's yard, he had no access and couldn't release the trap. They said I should have gotten a call. I never did get that call. Called to solve this and got the run around. There was nothing until TUESDAY. I asked to speak to the supervisor who now informed me that no tech could go out until WEDNESDAY. The biggest problem was that the issues didn't reside with me. If my neighbor wasn't home to allow access to Cox, I wouldn't be able to get internet. I asked them how they would solve the issue with the neighbor being home. Nothing. I asked them which house it was. They didn't have a clue. So they knew enough that the trap was in a neighbor's yard, but when pressed had no idea the ADDRESS of the trap. Not once did they know where the location of the trap was off hand. So even if I had waited until Wednesday for a tech to come out, if this mysterious neighbor wasn't home, it's possible that I wouldn't be able to get internet access and I'd probably have to wait ANOTHER week to try agin. This was silly. I called and called and called. I did not get a sufficient answer. Quick check on Century Link to see they now have Fiber Optic internet, with cheaper prices than Cox with FASTER installation dates. I just switched to Century Link and I'm feeling good about the change. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH COX.
