  • the capitol is a beautiful building on its own, but it wins extra points for strong air-conditioning in summer and the well-preserved condition of its interior. if you navigate the convoluted wings accurately, you may end up at the stairs to the lock-out atrium on the top of the building, with a clear view over madison and its surrounding waters. the golden beavers at the top if the doorways standing watch are also plenty picture-worthy - it's definitely not an animal you'd expect with this gilded grandeur, but it IS the state animal.
