When you step into Bartram House Bakery, it gives you this WOW factor. It looks stylish and a little bit European. The first thing you see is the beautiful display of cakes and they really do look amazing! They have such a huge variety of sweet treats that it was hard to choose. But in the end I went for 3 different slices: burned almond, flour-less chocolate and the white raspberry truffle cakes.
On this particular Saturday there were 5 people working behind the counter. But still they were quite confused and disorganized. There was such a huge crowd in front of the counter that it was difficult to figure out who was waiting, who had already ordered etc. I ordered my coffee to go and my 3 slices of cake for take out as well. I didn't receive a number so in all this crowd and confusion I guess they just completely forgot about it. I asked the waiter what happened to my order and it took another 15 minutes to get my little treat box. On a positive site though, the cakes were absolutely delicious and I would definitely come back to try more. But I do believe that they need to find a way to better organize themselves as this experience left me feeling a bit meh a bout this place.
