| - Inventive tacos and a decent cocktail and beer selection. There's a nice dark ambiance (can be romantic if you're on a date, fun with a "late night" feel if you're with friends), and the service has been consistently good the couple of times I've tried the place. You also get free salsa (tasty -- with just the right amount of kick) and chips, which they refill as soon as you gobble them down!
My biggest gripe is that the tacos are too expensive. SMOKE in Homestead and the Round Corner Cantina both offer tacos that are just as tasty but nearly half the price--they're slightly smaller and not as inventive, but I mean, we're talking about tacos here. Tacos are supposed to be cheap, simple, and delicious, with focus on the flavor of the meat (or the textures and sauces, if vegetarian).
The vegetarian tacos here are reasonably priced at $5-6 (I recommend the Velvet Underground...mmm!), but many of the meat ones are $7-9! And for a taco at that price, it'd better be pure heaven wrapped in a tortilla. A few of them are (like the skirt steak taco), but a few of them are also mediocre (like the duck breast taco). I guess you're paying a few extra bucks for the inventiveness and the environment... definitely worth the occasional visit.
Quick tip: if you're appetizing with a fair portion of chips and salsa, two tacos here is definitely enough for a meal.
