| - I am NOT one to complain or to really even give reviews. Not really my style however, I have been to this school a few times to get a cut and speciality color. Went in with brown virgin hair going for a deep purple/burgundy balayage and a trim. The first time I went in the color ran a little longer than usual (which I do understand I'm going to a school so I didn't mind) but the instructor on duty was not tolerant of staying any later then 9PM sharp. I ended up leaving with sopping wet hair and no cut. They didn't even check the color to make sure I was happy. I was pretty much just kicked out the door as fast as they could get me out. They told me to come back later for the cut. No apology for not being able to get everything all done or with having me leave with wet hair... And I still was charged 68 dollars. When I got home I saw that the color what not what I wanted so since I rescheduled to get my hair cut, I also was going to get my hair color "fixed" to what I wanted originally. When I went in from the beginning the instructor, Karla, did not listen to what I wanted, stating she already knew. Even showed her a picture of the color I was hoping for and again stated she already knew, then told the student to do an all over color on me and the student had to remind her that I did not what an all over color, that I wanted a balayage. Then she proceeded to go mix the color in the back. Long story short, they lightened my hair and instead of informing the student that they did not have the correct color to do the shade of purple I wanted she mixed up a color that turned out to be FIRE ENGINE RED. While seeing the displeased look on my face, the instructor continued to tell me how beautiful it looked and that it was the exact color I asked for (which was extremely uncomfortable) even though she never asked me what I thought of it at the end. The instructor then continued to rush the student who was doing my cut telling her that it was 9 and basically to hurry up. Sitting there close to tears they asked me how I was going to pay, cash or card. Then as I left she did not say one word to me. I am in complete shock that a salon, even a school, would allow one of their clients to walk out looking like this when it is clearly nothing close to what I wanted. I am a mother of two small children and it is not easy to get out of the house for a 4 hour trip to a salon to walk out 68 dollars later looking like a wreck. The teachers clearly only care about getting out of work on time and not about the quality of the work their salon puts out. I couldn't let this go unmentioned because, I mean, you can see for yourself...
Now I'm going to need to have it fixed and you can bet I will never be headed back to this salon, nor will I ever recommend anyone to go there if they care at all what happens to their hair. So so so so so soooooo disappointed. Don't ever go to this school!!
UPDATE 8/24/2016
Today I received a follow up call from the director of the school Carrie. She went ahead and apologize for everything sincerely, offering me to come back in and get my hair done correctly free of charge or have a gift certificate to come in and get whatever kind of service I wanted in exchange for the terrible experience. However, since I am a mother of two young children I am unable to come in and do so. I told her I would just like to have the money I paid back. With absolutely no restraints she said that wasn't a problem and provided that money back to me. I was paid my money back in full with the most sincere apologies. She also let me know that the problem with the instructor was getting address. I changed my reviews from 1 star to 4. Even though my hair did not turn out the way I wanted in the slightest, she gladly refunded my money when she didn't have to.
Thanks again Carrie for addressing the issue and making sure to take care of your schools clients in the end!
