  • Tips for beginners: - Wear jeans and closed toe shoes - Go to the bathroom and drink water at EVERY opportunity. We brought a backpack with out own drinks, but the guides brought a big cooler full of water bottles during the trip anyways. - Man up when you ride the ATVs! After reading the other reviews remarking on how they should've given more extensive instructions on how to ride, I was a little baffled. Teaching us how to ride the ATVs on the pavement at their location would be incomparable to manuvering around the Valley of Fire. If anything, being able to find out my comfort level, but pushing myself to man handle the ATV, made the trip that much more worth it. - Don't push yourself to go fast. The guides say this over and over again for a good reason. Naturally, I was a part of the slow/ inexperienced group, but after awhile we all got used to riding on the terrain, and were able to ride faster. - Bring your camera, just keep it in a secure place while you're riding :) Tips for girls: - Wear a sports bra! The terrain in the Valley of Fire is extremely rocky with a lot of hills and turns. I wore a tank top and a strapless bra, and felt like I was going to flash the entire group D: Our guides were Eric, Daniel, and Roddy. At first I was very skeptical that this group was going to be hospitable or responsive to us: Right off the back they came off as laid back, and kind of going through the motions when giving us their intro, rules, warnings, etc. However, a couple minutes into the ride, one of the girls from our inexperienced group veered off the track and was having issues with her ATV. They were very patient with her and let her try getting back on the ATV for awhile before they had to stop her and have her ride the buggy the rest of the ride. She was upset that she did not get to ride the rest of the way, but trusted their decision. She rode the buggy with Roddy and she said he was a really good host, and did the best he could to make the buggy ride as memorable and enjoyable as possible. What really touched me was that they had an ATV waiting for her at the last leg of the course, and she was able to ride back to their headquarters herself. Our group really appreciated that they allowed her to have some closure, and that they were so patient with us. A lot of their directions were mainly body language and easy to understand. Daniel led our inexperienced group, and was constantly keeping on eye on us to make sure we were keeping up, or to see if we stalled. If there were any holes or difficult terrain, hewould stop the group and let us know what was up ahead. During the breaks where we had lunch or took pictures, you're literally hanging out with these guys - this is their turf, and they're letting us see first hand why this location is so gorgeous, but also a breath of fresh air compared to the "fakeness" of the strip. They were really funny, knowledgable, but above all, GENUINE! You can tell these guys really love their jobs. I am definetely going again! I heard them saying they sometimes have rides during dusk, and that would be a good picture taking opportunity. I would reccomend asking them about that.
