  • *Can we pretend that airlines, *In the night sky, don't make me want to shoot myself right now *I really could use a wish right now, wish right now *that all airlines were like Porter. Why fly with them: You want free REAL food, FREE BOOZE, don't want to be nickel and dimed (e.g. Westjet) and want to enjoy your flying experience for a short-haul. Why you shouldn't fly with them: Long haul trips and get a bit weezy at the first sight of turbulence and you enjoy the in-flight entertainment that Air Canada and Westjet provide. As an experienced business traveler, who flies 5-10 times a year, I use Porter at least 3-4 times a year. I would prefer to use them more, but unfortunately, they don't go to all my destinations. Atmosphere/Comfort level: 4.5/5. I am judging this by the Toronto City Centre Airport lounge, the plane itself and boarding procedures. The lounge has great freebies (drinks, coffee, latte's) and an iMac area (hidden near the sides), the plane has great legroom and the boarding procedures are painless. It is especially helpful at Midway in Chicago where you get priority boarding and you can't help but think "haha suckers, I got priority boarding and I paid coach fare!" The only reason I am docking 0.5 is because there is no tv on the plane, plus since they are smaller planes, you can really feel the turbulence. Small price to pay, imo. Service: 5/5 Flight attendants are friendly, and they serve you real food!! When I got onto the plane once, I was experiencing some severe discomfort in my throat and they immediately got me water once everyone had boarded. They didn't wait until after reaching cruising altitude. As for the food, if you get on during a certain "breakfast, lunch, dinner" time, they give you a small free meal. It's like the size of a kids meal, but who cares? This is still better than Air Canada and Westjet. If you don't get the meal, they'll at least offer you your choice of some amazing Terra chips or cookies. Go for the chips!!! Oh yeah, most importantly FREE BOOZE!!!! Price: 3.5/5 - usually around same price as every other airline and when they have sales, so does Air Canada and Westjet to the same locations. I love flying with them, but I did have one bad experience with them. Since the Toronto City Centre airport is located on an island, some heavy showers will delay flights significantly. However, this was maybe 1 out of 8 or 9 times I've flown with them. Crap happens when flying.
