| - This is the WORST HOTEL I have stayed at in years. I travel 2-4 days a week for work and am in hotels all the time; I consider myself a hotel connoisseur. We came here for a friends wedding and booked over 10 rooms at this hotel.
Here are the problems we encountered
-staff was less than friendly.
- room smelled like someone had defecated (pooped) on the floor, right before we came in. We had to go to local Walgreens and buy room/air fresheners.
-shower curtain smelled like mildew (as if never washed); which is not a huge deal, but I absolutely hate that smell, especially while in a small confined bathroom.
-hotel told us there would be a complimentary shuttle for the wedding, since the bride and groom reserved and filled over 10 rooms; it was a huge deciding factor when they chose this place. Come the day of the wedding, there was no shuttle to take us and we had to scramble to figure out how to get to the venue. Hotels excuse was, "the bride and groom didn't pay for it", with no apology attached to their excuse. We told them we were told it was complimentary since they reserved so many rooms, they were oblivious and unapologetic about the whole thing.
-most hotels have converted to a thermostat controlled wall unit. This hotel still uses the older style ones with just a turn knob. No biggie, but indicative of their maintenance and upkeep.
-two out of three elevators (in our wing) were broke most the time we were there.
-hotel has two separate wings with separate sets of elevators and it can be a little confusing for people. Also, if you're in one wing and friends are in the other, you have to go all the way to 1st floor, walk to other wing and use elevators to get up to that wing.
Here's what (little) we liked:
-cool and popular bar down stairs in lobby; mainly 40+ crowd comprised of locals.
-decent restaurant
-finally checking out and leaving
