| - I liked the overall vibe of Firehouse. Big spaces, I didn't feel like I had to walk through a maze to get anywhere. The double bar is nice! While I was there the seating seemed to be open, I helped myself lol so that was nice as well!
Its not the funnest place in the world, but definitely a cool spot.
I had to deduct a star because I ran into a nasty bartender there that completely ruined my experience and Im very hesitant to go back because of her (I found out later that her name was Demarie? or something like that...) Yup. Puttin you on blast sister.
I had ordered 2 chilled grey goose shots with a friend of mine, and two cranberry chasers. Paid with my card, and handed the girl my receipt that I signed.
As I'm digging in my wallet for some cash for a tip, she gives me a dirty look and rudely snaps at me saying "Um aren't you going to tip me??" -- Are you kidding me???
1. Just because I'm a female customer and you probably always get your way with your looks, doesn't mean you can be down-right rude to me. I'm also a PAYING customer honey!
2. I'm a server as well, and I know how important and beneficial tips are - so I am ALWAYS generous, no matter where I go.
I reluctantly handed her some money, threw my shots back, and left.
Killed the mood for me! I felt utterly disrespected for no reason at all and no longer wanted to be there.
The venue is decent, the drinks are fairly priced, not very strong but I didn't mind, but that one bartender ruined it for me. One bad apple ruins the whole batch. Rubbed me the wrong way!
Other than that, keep doin your thing firehouse! Congrats on the new one in Tempe! Hopefully I'll be back for a visit and it'll be better than the last time.
