The Monte Carlo is starting to lose it's luster. My wife and I stayed at this hotel over the weekend because we wanted to stay with our other family members. The lobby is nicely kept and the staff in my experience was friendly. There is also a nice tram which takes you to the Aria and there are two Starbucks within a thirty second walk in the Casino. We ate at the Brand Steakhouse restaurant and although it was pricey it was well worth the money. The prime rib was excellent and the Brand salad was a nice refreshing surprise.
But, it starts to go downhill once you get off the elevator and head to your room...the carpet looks dirty and in some spots it is starting to crease. The room we were in was clean but looks worn. There is a nice LCD tv in the room and the bed was comfortable. The toilet scares you every time it is flushed and the shower head sprays very hard. (my wife called it a "Silkwood" shower)
If you are on a budget it isn't bad but would have preferred to stay at a nicer hotel. Don't think we will be back to stay.
