| - Best view in baseball. To say it is breathtaking is a serious understatement. Such a pleasant atmosphere to be in. Between pitches I would just stare out over the water, and I was in heaven.
They also offer some of the best beer selections in any stadium, with tons of craft beers on draft and in bottles. The breckinridge vanilla porter and church brew pious monk dunkel were particular hits with me. The beers of the burgh stand is not to be missed for some unique local choices.
The food is above average as well. Primanti bros offers up a solid sandwich unlike anything you'll find in another stadium in the game. That said, it still tastes like ballpark food, whereas a park like camden yards serves downright restaurant quality concessions. We also tried BRGR which is average even for a ballpark burger. Dry and lacking flavor. Still, I was satisfied on the strength of the Primantis.
Other highlights include great sightlines, wide open concourses, and plenty of bathrooms. It is very close to downtown, so there is plenty to do afterwards. The Clemente statue near the entrance is a plus too. Unlike most stadium statues, this thing is breathtakingly large. It is a great touch. I also like that there are areas throughout the park where you can stand and watch - the outfield rotunda is lined with people watching the game, and there is a bar in the right field corner where you can stand and watch while enjoying a full liquor bar that is open through the 9th. Where else can you find that? They do a great job providing a fan experience you don't get at many ballparks.
I cannot end this review without highlighting the wonderful pilgrimage across the Roberto Clemente bridge to and from the game. Not only a great view, but following along with the swarm of fans is a great way to get into the mood. Once across the bridge, getting to walk along the water behind the outfield seats is pleasant and beautiful, too. The atmosphere really can't be beat.
This place deserves 5 stars regardless of the action on the field, but it didn't hurt that we saw a great game, a Kershaw-Cole duel that had more than expected offensive action, with a leadoff homer and a Pirates walk off win in extra innings. Such a great time.
