| - About a month ago I called in advance to see what their policies were for buying used items. I was reassured that they will give 40% of what the item was recently retailing for (used), and of course condition comes into play..which I assumed. But I brought in quite a few large, rather expensive items (stroller/car seat set, beds, high chair, etc) and it was a waste of time and money. Once again I was only given maybe 10%. The reason being was they needed to be cleaned...I power washed, scrubbed, wiped down, washed/dried in laundry room and even let most of the items air dry so there weren't any wrinkles. I definitely could of missed a few areas, given that these were USED items...but I should of just went with my gut and kept my items. On top of everything I donated a (working) adorable animal lamp that went with the crib bedding, and the didn't even take the bedding. It was a matching set and didn't even open the bag. My generosity sometimes backfires, but okay I'll let it slide. The ONLY reason I ended up taking the cash was because I was leaving the next day and needed it asap. I have sold items at few different baby thrift stores and they are all the same. I have even went as far to take off tags of new items too see what they would say, and guess what they "still needed to be cleaned." It's a total scam when it comes to the buying process because it's computer generated...what I was told. So long story short, plan, and sell your items yourself. It was my fault to begin with thinking of giving another one of these stores another shot, but shame on me I suppose. The reason I am giving it three stars is because they did have a good amount of items I would purchase for my little ones, and they have a trendy thrift store attached to it (don't remember the name).
