The sales representative was very friendly and nice, though misguided. He guaranteed me that my residential location was available for fiber (it was not). I will give them credit for working all day and going above and beyond during the installation. It was very challenging for the instal guy as he ran into many problems, he even stayed beyond the end of his shift. However, what he installed was not fiber, but DSL. The very next day I called customer service to confirm my suspicion. If I had not, I would have never known and don't want others to get suckered into this bait-and-switch sales tactic. The first customer service person I talked to was very nice and friendly. She transferred me to the escalation department. This guy was very rude, had loads of attitude, cut me off multiple times, talked all over me instead of listening, did not want to help, and tried to explain/rationalize to me that it was fiber. As I prodded him for additional details he said that fiber was run into this general area. From that they ran vertical DSL into my home and therefore this was considered bonafide fiber. He initially said it was impossible to run fiber directly into homes. Which he later recanted and said into most homes. I confirmed that what they installed was copper wiring (not fiber) and was indeed DSL (not fiber).
