| - Received a follow-up call from the sales manager today after my terrible visit to Honda Zimbrick earlier in the week.
I was hoping that this man would have apologized for his salesman's poor remarks and treatment from a few days prior. He offered no apology for the behavior and sexist remarks of the previous guy.
What this sales manager did do, once again, was challenge me on my Honda Civic trade-in value. The market and Kelly Blue Book states that a pre-certified 2016 civic sells between $16,871 - 19,188 and that the price is $18,635. When I told this sales mgr. that he should be able to sell my used civic for $19,999 as this is the going price for pre-certified 2016 civics being sold at Honda dealers today. This sales manager, like the previous salesman, was completely dismissive. He only offered $14,500 (a slight bump up from the previous offer) but $2K less than what he should have paid. This man even said that he could never get $19,999 for a used pre-certified civic even though that is what they are selling for. He also said that Kelly Blue Book was also not going to show that he could sell civics for that price. I asked him was he actually expecting to $4K off the sell price to move the car? He actually said yes! (If this were true then anyone looking for a 2016 pre-certified civic should rush over to Zimbrick's and get a super-special deal!)
As I said in my previous review, car dealers look to make around $200-$500 on a used car. Zimbrick states they wanted to make $750 on a pre-certified civic. I think the math is pretty simple, based on what the car is valued at and what it can be sold for, Zimbrick is looking to make around $4K -$5K on a used car. Far greater than what there own salesman have even stated.
What this tells me is that Zimbrick is looking for the uninformed customer to take advantage of. Stay away from Zimbrick. Sexist and dishonest salesman!
