I came to New Serenity Spa as part of a birthday celebration while visiting the city of Scottsdale. It is about 20-25 minutes outside of Old Town, but a much more economical option for spa treatments than typical hotel resorts of Scottsdale. Massage treatments ran under $100 for an hour compared to double that at the resorts.
The staff was very friendly and my masseuse did an excellent job of applying the exact amount of pressure I requested. There was even a foot exfoliating and scalp massage which was heavenly. The spa beds were all heated which provided a nice extra touch to the experience. Since it was a special birthday, we opted to add-on a quick after-party which consisted of a round of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries with our group in a private room. It was a nice added touch to wrap up the experience.
One con is that were we were told to arrive a half-an-hour early to our appointment for no specific reason. We ended up rushing from brunch to ensure we were there early and then were asked to wait for thirty minutes. Also, we were on a tight schedule and ended up having to wait after our massages in the main waiting area while they prepped the champagne and sweets. Since we all started (and were going to finish) at the same time, that could have been set up while we were getting our massage so we could seamlessly move from our massage to the after-party.
