  • Fresh produce and nice service. Yesterday, I walked out with the loveliest, sweetest boxes of strawberries and did not pay organic prices ($.99/pint). I wanted to make guacamole. I found small avocados (2 for $.99). I was also excited to find delicious ripe yellow mangoes (3 for $.99). As I was scouring the aisles for a can of black beans, I asked the young man for directions in Spanish, he replied in English. It is nice to know that if you don't speak Spanish, there are clerks in the store who can assist you in English. The check out lines at 5:30 pm were longer. There were 5 opened with about 4 carts deep. Most people had full carts of groceries. The lady behind me in the line had a bag of green chiles. I was curious and asked how to cook them. They were roasted anaheim chiles, and she was going to make beef stew with hominy in a slow cooker. The cashier chimed in and said they were delicious with carne asada. I love being surrounded by people who want to help me be a better cook. I had a blast.
