| - Yes, I'm a big fan of Dollarama. Usually I only step foot inside dollar stores for dress up party costumes and gift wrap, but this is super handy for the basics when you live and work downtown.
This store has a surprising amount of homewares. Need cleaning products, coat hangers, glasses and plates, kitchen utensils or Tupperware? Head here. There's a full range of kitchen stuff by Betty Crocker which seems to be of decent quality.
There's also a dry goods food aisle which has some handy basics like baking soda, vinegar, sugar, crackers, sauces, salt and pepper and juice.
There's no signs for the aisles and generally no staff around (other than behind the registers busy serving people) so do a quick wander up and down to get an idea of where things are before you drive yourself crazy. The only way to get in is a long flight of stairs and if you come during your lunch hour the line tends to be pretty long, but they will stretch your dollar further!
