A colleague suggested we go to the Rio buffet after our conference ended. I'm normally opposed to buffets, since they seem to believe that stuffing you beyond all reason is compensation for mediocre food.
I was surprised at the Rio. The quantity was certainly there, and the "they didn't cheat me" mentality was in full effect. The food itself was actually decent. I had some prime rib that was near-perfect. Frankly, when I get crab legs, I like to get as many as possible. It was an excellent situation. The desserts were very good, without being too sweet. Our waiter cleared the table quickly and efficiently.
The only downer was observing the unabashed gluttony of other individuals. My colleagues noted listening to people complain about not enough when they've had two pounds of lobster tails is just shameful.
