| - What a great idea to open a place like this in Charlotte. Every big city should have one! The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and excited to show off their new facility. There's so much activity packed into their space - it's awesome.
The largest allure in my opinion is the ability to perform obstacles at your own comfort level and pace. It's like a large jungle gym! The facilities are nice too equipped with lockers and showers. The two high-ropes courses and the Warrior Course are the staples of this establishment. They also offer dueling zip-lines, parkour area, warped wall, belay systems, small free-climb rock climbing, work out classes, event spaces, and they talk about organizing programs targeted for all types of people including businesses, tough-mudder training, birthday parties, after school, youth groups, etc.
There is a difficult and less difficult high-ropes course which is great for participants of all ages. Honestly the difficult side was a little more challenging than I expected, but in a good way.
The Warrior Course is similar to what you could find on American Ninja Warrior. It's challenging and fun. A little too challenging for us who don't have any upper body strength (*raises hand*) but my boyfriend loved it. You can make your way through at your own pace and elect to do whichever obstacles you choose. There are trainers throughout who can help advise you through the course if you like. They mentioned that they plan on rotating out some of the obstacles each quarter to switch things up.
For the zip line, they have you sit on a platform and scoot your butt off/fall to start the zip. At first I thought this seemed a little weird, but it ended up being the best part of the ride.
While my first thought was that nothing could compare to the ropes course at the white water center, I now think that Kinetic Heights is a good pairing. This is a great option if you are looking for a way to kill a few hours (as opposed to committing to a whole day at the WWC) - and at a fraction of the cost. It's also year round and isn't weather dependent. With all this variety in one space - what's not to love? Let your inner kid out.
