Hubby and I were in the neighborhood and decided to give this a try. I was really disappointed and hubby said it was okay.
We stood in a line that winds itself through a hip version of a Cracker Barrel lobby. The menu is written on chalkboards high above the register/bakery counter area. Because there is so much on the menu the words are difficult to read. When we got to the register we then came upon menu sheets. With a line of people waiting behind us I felt rushed to order.
The cheesecake we ordered to share was immediately handed to us so of course we ate as soon as we sat down. It was delicious! This is the only reason I am giving the restaurant two stars.
After a few minutes hubby's name was yelled. To get to the food was a journey through tables, around a long pub table (8 chairs long) down to the end of the bar.
We both ordered basic food. I had a cheeseburger with a pile of grated cheese that melted into a lump, a thin slice of pickle, and 2 of the worse excuses for tomato slices (honestly I would have been embarrassed to serve them). Hubby had the green chili cheeseburger which he proclaimed to be okay.
Our sides were Caesar salad (him) which was fresh and fries (me) which were cold and salty. The fries were so salty that they could have walked across the table and shook hands with the napkins I was using to wipe off my fingers. I gave up on my lunch after eating 1/3 of the burger and 5 of the fries.
We spent $38 for two sub par burgers, bottled drinks and a dessert to share. Should have gone to Freddy's - they call your number instead of yelling your name, have better food and cost a hell of a lot less.
