| - I would not recommend Abbey Dental as they did not want to bill my PPO insurance. This, after telling me over the phone as I was making the appointment that they did take my insurance. I asked them why are they disregarding my insurance, encouraging me to apply for financing (once I was there, feeling rather vulnerable and reclined in the dental chair)? Why when I have insurance that everyone takes, am I being asked to pay out-of-pocket for everything (nearly $4000 in work) up front? The woman explained to me (which was no explanation at all) that their "prices are so low" at Abbey Dental that they bill you directly and NOT the insurance. I do not understand why, if they have such lower prices would that not be a welcomed thing by the insurance companies? That made no sense. So here is the procedure as explained to me by "Shay." With the exception of Medicaid patients, they bill the patient directly. And after the work is all done (and money securely in their hand), they let your insurance know you had work done and you can fully expect that you will receive a check in the mail by your insurance afterwards at some future date. That is exactly how Shay explained it to me. The staff was very polite, but yes, as another person wrote on this review site, you can just sense something is not on the up and up. Its an almost... used car dealership/Bottom-feeders of the Dental World in Las Vegas kind of feeling you get about them. It is possible they do the work they are paid to do, but I will never know firsthand as I would never EVER step foot in Abbey Dental again.
