  • This is a two part review, because I had to actually go back to get my nails redone after the gel nail polish peeled off my nails within 72 hours. Part One: I had tried going to one nail salon near Scottsdale Quarter, but they were super busy. So, I decided to go here. I called them before I arrived, and the older blonde woman answered the phone and told me she could schedule me for a same-day appointment for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure in 15 minutes. Perfect! That was great considering I only had about 2 hours to get my nails done before I had to be at work. I arrived at the salon before my appointment, checked in, and the woman who made my appointment provided me with some gel nail polish swatches to pick from while I waited. I picked a royal blue (It was an OPI color that ended in Stockholm), and she helped me find a similar (near identical) color for my toes. I was seated in a pedicure chair before my appointment time, and a young guy did my pedicure. He did a great job on it and was polite the whole time. About halfway through my pedicure a petite woman with a black bob came up to me and started doing my manicure. She was very polite and did not seem to be in a hurry. The only bad thing was her shirt was slightly sheer, and I could see some body parts that should have been covered up better. But, in reality that doesn't reflect on her skills, just that maybe the salon should have a different dress code. She completed my manicure and it looked great. I was very happy with it and left a 20% tip for both of my manicurist and pedicurist. 72 Hours passes....the polish on my left middle finger has started to lift and peel off. Later that day, the rest of my nail polish peels off entirely. (Keep in mind I don't do anything that would warrant my polish to be peeling that soon. I work in a library, a museum, and I wait tables so it shouldn't have happened) I call the salon the following day (Wednesday 8/3) and let them know that my entire gel manicure peeled off the day before and I wanted to see if they had a policy in regards to gel nail polish (most salons will redo the gel manicure if it peels off within a week, some will do it within 14 days), the older woman told me that yes they do and she recommended that I come in that day to get it fixed. She also told me that usually when it peels that they recommend that they come in that day. So, I made an appointment and went back in. She asked me who did my nails, unfortunately I did not catch her name, but by chance the woman who did them before did them again and she felt really bad that it had peeled off. She fixes them and they looked just as good as before. I left her a tip again because she fixed them and was so polite. Part Two: All of my nail polish peeled off AGAIN yesterday (Saturday 8/6). I'm really disappointed, because now my nails are absolutely destroyed from having gel polish applied, then having it peel off, then having my nails buffed and filed to be smooth again, gel polish applied again, and having it peel off again. Maybe it was the polish. Maybe it was the manicurist. I don't know. All I know is that all of my fingers had a small bump at the end, which may have been an air pocket or just a thick mass of nail polish. Maybe that is why they peeled off (all of my nails were capped with polish). But, I'm really disappointed over all. I will definitely be calling the owner to try and get this straightened out because it is absurd. Despite all of this, the service was great. Both the manicurist and pedicurist were great. So, I would give them both five stars. But, because of the state of my nails now and that I have had this issue, I can't give the trip as a whole 5 stars.
