| - My family has shopped at "No Thrills" as long as I can remember, no matter which neighbourhood we lived in, no matter how sketchy the store was. Fortunately, the Avenue Road No Frills, I think by virtue of location, is positively spotless and always well stocked. I have no qualms about buying produce here, and they even have a few organic produce items. They renovated about a year ago so everything is bright and clean.
This location is a little small and very, uh, white. They have lots of salt and sugar and "Memories of" sauces, but heaven forbid you want some garam masala or Thai hot sauce. That's okay, though, there are other No Frills locations in neighbourhoods that are much more diverse that carry those things. If I am driving through Parkdale or Scarborough, that's when I stock up on giant packages of non-white staples.
You need to bring your own bags, or else you are carrying your stuff home in a box or paying for plastic. If you bank with PC Financial you also get points for each bag you bring with you.
