  • This is a basic 3 star review but I must give them 4 stars because of the way they handled an issue - they went beyond my expectations. I booked online through my airline, and got a reasonably competitive rate. I was going to go with a cheaper company, but then I read the Yelp reviews and they were scary - so I went with Alamo, not the absolute cheapest but not far off. Pickup was fast and easy, using the self-serve consoles. You get to 'choose your vehicle', but I've never seen such a bland selection so I was stuck with a Chrysler 200, which ended up being quiet, smooth, functional - so not bad. But on reviewing the receipt later, I noticed the rate was not what I had confirmed with the airline - it was about $10 more. So I called main cust. service number, they couldn't help, and then I called the local office in PHX, and the person there could not help either, but she told me to leave a message with "Julie" who 'comes in later'. So I did this, with almost zero expectation of a call back. Well, Julie did call me back that same day and - while she could not explain why I was charged a different rate, completely adjusted my rate and got me a discount. This really made me feel good about them (despite being charged too much initially and having to spend an hour on the phone!). I will definitely rent from them again.
