There's no big sign hanging above this bakery. At least there wasn't when we stopped it. And to be honest, they probably don't need it! Type in the address and follow your GPS. The scent of mouth-watering baked goods will lead you there.
My travel companion and I made this our last stop out of town during our recent stay. Sunday morning French pastries... What better way to wrap up your trip to Montreal?
She ordered a piece of the kouign amann and plain croissants. I went with the almond croissant and pan du chocolate. By comparison, this was not my favotire almond croissant. It may have been a little overdone for my liking, and it wasn't overly sweet. And even though it isnt the best I've had, it was pretty amazing. Especially since it was still warm. I dig into the pan du chocolate next, and I liked it too. It was again not my favorite, but very good. It was buttery and chocolatey, and the chocolate was still warm. The second pan du chocolate, I saved that for the ride home... And this was the bonus of the day. Something about sitting for an hour or so allowed the flavors to really set in. It tasted so much better!!!
This is definitely the place locals go, and I can see why. This is definitely a place to grab and go with some exceptionally baked goods. Fantastic!
