| - Holy crap, this place ROCKS!
I have a hard time believing this place even exists in Phoenix, especially downtown. The vibe here is very "big city" downtown. It's cool, high energy, and widely diverse. The food is fresh and contemporary and the service blew me away.
We ate a variety of sashimi and about 5 different kinds of rolls. Don't leave here without having the Rising Sun and the Fuji rolls (ask for extra sauce and sprinkles on the latter). Great quality seafood and uber fresh veggies, beautifully executed. (I would like to have seen a little more proficiency with the slicing of the tako, but it's kind of a beast to master and this is such a small thing...) Moira also has the real deal fresh wasabi for only $2, SO worth it for a huge pile of fresh, green goodness.
Moira has a great list of specialty cocktails and a knock-out sake list with excellent prices.
All of the servers I saw seemed amazing, but we had the pleasure of being served by Mattie, who was just the best, honestly. I was very happy to see a big crowd on a Thursday night, and they have kick-ass happy hour deals through the week and reverse happy hour on the weekend. Ask about the specials too, they sounded awesome although we didn't try them.
I honestly don't have a bad thing to say about Moira Sushi. I fear we'll go broke now that we found Moira, but it will be a great way to go!
