| - Great place to get your glasses with only 1 minor complaint.
But first, the reasons I like this place.
All of the staff is very friendly and helpful! Unlike other places where the staff seem like they cant wait till their shift is over, everyone here seems like they couldnt be any happier to be there to help you. They will make honest recommendations too, so if something looks like its too big or too small, they will suggest something else for you instead of pushing a sale to get you out the door.
There are a lot of glasses to choose from for both glasses and sunglasses and they have them all out for you to try, or if there is something behind glass, theyll unlock them for you to try. A must have as a pair of glasses might look good, but not so good when you actually put them on. I had to go through many a pairs before I found the right pair that looked right.
Prices are ok I would guess but its hard to tell as frame prices vary a lot from brand to brand. I felt the prices were more than the prices I have historically paid for at other establishments, but I guess I did get better lenses here. That being said, service was much better here, so it's worth it. Since I did my eye exam here, as well as buying 2 pairs at the same time, I was able to bring the price down a bit. So with that discount, prices were actually very good!!
After all said and done, I was very happy with my glasses that I got, but a little less happy with my sunglasses.
For my sunglasses, I chose a pair of Oakleys, the ones with the sporty curved look and asked if they could make them prescription sunglasses. They said it was not a problem at all. The fit was good before they put the prescription lenses in, but when I came to pick them up with the prescription lenses, the fit was completely off. Apparently the curvature of the glasses and the lens is different, so it causes the frame to be pushed wider. This meant the sunglasses were very loose and would fall off if I looked down. They did try to fix the problem by putting spacer in the hinges so the glasses doesn't open up all the way and thus are tighter, but its more of a hack of a fix since now the sides of my glasses are sharp and point from the hinges not closing all the way. Not a big issue but Im a bit picky with details.
Another issue was the fact that the lenses seemed to be super thick, even though they're supposed to be "Super Thin". Now I know nothing about sunglasses lenses, so maybe they're thicker than just clear prescription lenses, but no one told me this, or even gave me the option to go thinner.
So this is probably not entirely their fault that my sunglasses didnt fit well, but nonetheless it was less than a 5 star experience so I must review it as such. Realistically it's a 4.5, but there's no half stars.
Conclusion: Will I go back though? Definitely! The store, the staff and the service is extremely welcoming and being able to sit down and not be rushed as you try on different pairs of glasses makes all the difference.
