To be fair, I think this service can be good for inexperienced buyers. If you don't like interacting with dealers and want someone to manage the paperwork and hold your hand throughout the process, this is ideal for you in my opinion. Brian is also a very nice person who is very respectful. And it seems that Brian has good relationships with local dealers and will get you a fair deal. If you don't have a lot of experience with buying cars and are intimidated with dealing with car dealerships, I recommend this service.
That being said, I do not think this is a good service for experienced buyers looking to get the best deal possible. I feel any experienced buyer will recognize, as i did, that I was much better off on my own. I am an experienced buyer. I came here with the intent of getting a competitive deal that I could not get on my own. I did not find that to be the case. In many ways, i felt I knew more about the car buying process than Brian. I was pretty surprised that he was not aware of certain aspects. The quote he approached me with from a local dealer was much higher than what I found on my own. At that time, Brian required the dealership pay him a fee in addition to the one you pay him. I feel this is a conflict of interest. I feel this could impact your ability to negotiate a better deal. I think this could also cut you off from certain dealerships as they may not feel comfortable paying him a fee. For me, I'm giving him 2 stars because I expected a lot more in terms of negotiating ability and knowledge about the car buying process.
