| - I used Lifetime for a move from AZ to MD with storage in between. Lifetime had great customer service before the move and the movers who picked up my stuff in AZ were professional, timely, and did a great job. However, the delivery side in MD was a huge mess. I was told before deciding to use Lifetime that they use local moving companies to do the actual delivery. In reality, they contract out to a freight truck company and the driver calls movers from a move signup website to come the day of. The day my stuff was to be delivered, the freight truck driver gave me a time but when I checked in he pushed it 3 hours. I met him at my new house at that time and he showed up shortly after. However, since he was late, the movers he had set up no longer answered his calls so he had to find new local movers who would take another 45 min to arrive. At that time, they started the move but since they had never worked together, they constantly argued on how to do things. I was told they would use a local moving company which means they would show up when needed and have a good process in place. Apparently the truck driver called one of them 'fat and lazy' about 30-45 minutes into the move so he quit in the middle leaving just 1 mover and the driver. This caused it to take significantly longer and neither were careful with my furniture or my hard wood floors. The mover told me I should expect scrapes and scratches since that's just part of the job. They ended up scratching my hard wood floors in at least 3 places. Also, several of the boxes including the wardrobe boxes which cost significantly extra to move since they aren't supposed to be stacked looked damaged and were definitely stacked. The driver couldn't find a couple of my items so had me climb in the truck to look for additional items which I found. Very unorganized and he wasn't friendly at all. They did not assemble my bed correctly so I had to take it apart after they left and reassemble. I also found 2 pieces of my garage shelving unit outside in my front yard on the ground several days after the move. Total disappointment. I tried contacting Lifetime during the move and in the months afterwards and they just sent me to fill out a claim with the 3rd party. The claims process looks at damages only (~$0.06/pound if you don't pay for extra insurance and for them to pack your stuff) and does not take the customer service aspect into consideration. So, I would potentially use them for a local move or even within AZ but I would definitely not recommend them for a long distance move.
