  • If I didnt have google maps, I would have missed this place. It truly is "hidden away", even though it faces out towards the street. Its clearly a local watering hole and it was a bit smaller than I thought it would be. The atmosphere is intimate, warm, with a south western flare. Half the kitchen is exposed to whoever sits at the bar, so its coll watching them make meals. They have an OK selection of beers on draft, but they certainly lean more towards the wine department. For their happy hour menu, they shorten some entrees to a more tapas style plate. I really enjoyed this option, since I could taste a little of everything. Duck Rellenos were quite interesting. Piping hot, just the right amount of spice, the gaminess and smoke of the duck gives it a robust feel, and the cheese blends everything together. Carne Adovada Sliders were delicious. Good size, good bread, and tasty meat. The southwest flavors in the meat really bloom here. Grilled Shrimp were actually worth getting here. Its pricey, but if that doesnt bother you, then go for it. The sauces surrounding the shrimp almost didnt seem like the designated dipping sauces. The cheesy sauce was my favorite. The rice and beans were ok, but nothing to pig out on.
