We bought our first home knowing the 17-year old AC wasn't going to make it through too many more Arizona summers so we got a home warranty policy for if/when that happened. Our policy allows for an annual system check and the warranty company partnered with Universal to come check out the unit.
During the annual check-up, a few minor issues cropped up and we scheduled a time when someone would return to repair them. The day before Universal was scheduled to come out for the repairs, the air handler unit in the attic made a noise that can only be compared to a machine gun. It was set to be near 100 degrees the following day and we were *sure* it was unsafe to turn the AC on. I called Universal and was prepared to have to beg them to also address this issue the next day even though they hadn't scheduled for it. Josh (one of the owners, I believe) had the best reply: "Don't worry about it. Whatever it is, we can fix it." I hung up feeling confident that we were in good hands.
Sure enough, Universal came through. Within 36 hours (we needed some new parts that had to be located/purchase/picked-up), Josh had our AC back on and running better than it ever had before. He followed up on what he said he would do, communicated throughout the process and was all around just a nice dude. Moving forward, we will continue to use this company for all things HVAC.
