| - Never again. I have rented from Fox in Los Angeles before, and did not have a problem. However, I will never rent from any Fox rental after my experience in Las Vegas. We took a day trip to Valley of Fire and on our way back we decided to take the northern route around Lake Meade back to check out the Hoover Dam. Well, we got about 15 miles out of the park and the car started bucking like a donkey in heat. And when I say heat, it was about 110 degrees in the Nevada desert. We pulled off the road for a few minutes and let it rest. We decided to try it again since we were in the middle of nowhere with no cell service. We got about another 5 miles up the road before it started to happen again. This time, more aggravated than before. Instead of risking blowing the engine, which we would ultimately be responsible for, we decided it would be a good idea to pull off and call Fox Rental for help. Since we had very limited and spotty cell service my friend had to climb a mountain to get a connection which kept getting cut off during the call to customer service. As soon as she called she let them know our location and told them we have no cell service so they needed to send someone right away to our location. They got cut off during the call. The customer service person called back, but of course there was no service so he left a message not mentioning anything about sending someone out to our location. He basically said, since you are female, you probably don't know what the problem is and the car is fine. Well, again, we were not about to drive this car. Luckily a park ranger came and drove my friend to an area where she could get cell service. A new customer service person said they would send someone out and they would be there within the next 2 hours. We had already been sitting there for about 45 minutes trying to contact them with the spotty cell service. 2 hrs goes by in the hot blazing sun. At 2.5 hrs my friend climbs back up the mountain to call Fox again to see if they in fact sent someone out to our location (which was about 45 min drive from Las Vegas). A new customer service person basically tells my friend someone has been sent out, and hangs up on my friend. Hangs up?? Yes. She hung up on my friend while we were sitting in the middle of nowhere with limited cell service. Customer service at its best. 3 hours goes by. 4 hours goes by. At 4.5 hrs my friend climbs back up the mountain and gets yet another customer service person. This time she is informed that a tow truck was sent out at 6 pm (3 hrs after they said they had originally sent a tow truck with a new car for us). They continued to tell us lie after lie. Finally, just before dark, at around 7:30 pm (5.5 hrs after the car first started bucking) the tow truck arrives with a new rental. He also thought it was a big joke. Anyway, we get in the new car, starving, in desperate need of a beer and begin to take off. Well, guess what? The second car stinks like stale cigarettes, is beat up on the inside and outside and has issues with the brakes. Are you serious? We drove straight to Fox Rental to return that car. While we were at the counter another couple had just rented a car and were about to head out to their hotel and their car broke down right outside of Fox Rental. Wish we were that lucky. Their customer service sucks and their employees drive the cars like they are in the Indy 500. Also, all three cars they gave us had not had an oil change in over 3,000 miles. Not that it's a huge thing, but how about some maintenance on your rentals???!!! Never again Fox Rental.
