| - I would NOT go back to San Tan Ford.
We made two visits to San Tan Ford to purchase a specific car. To lure us in they told us if their location did not have the car we wanted it could be brought in within 4 hours and they would work a deal with us rather than have us go to another dealership. When it came time to talk about pricing of the vehicle we wanted...it was not clear what inventory they had on their property, or what was in the area that matched what we wanted - it was as if they did not even know. So we started negotiating on a car we had test driven (had more features than we wanted...but it was there, and if they were willing to deal with us, then we both had a sale). After awhile of negotiation, we came to an agreement on the car. After an hour of waiting we were taken back to the finance room, only to be told that there was a mix up of the VIN numbers, and we were negotiating on different cars..and if we wanted the car we would have to pay another $2K. We were so livid that we had spent 3 hours there, we just got up and walked out. In hind sight...it seems as if they wanted to back out of the deal and therefore came up with a story (and created false paperwork) so that could happen. What was interesting is earlier when we wanted a car with these exact specs, it was not available...but back in the finance room, it all of a sudden was.
A very disappointing car buying experience...not that they are ever fun, but people should never do business this way. I would never go back to this particular Ford...it almost made me not want to purchase a Ford car in general. Luckily we found another Ford dealer, and we had a fantastic Ford experience (Peoria Ford - well worth the drive for anyone in the East Valley!).
