  • Where else are you able to view the dredges of what once lit up the legendary strip known in Las Vegas? I actually visited the Neon Boneyard before the La Concha addition was finished so it was very neat to explore the "boneyard" before it became formalized with the front redone. While the front reception area is modern and reminiscent of the classic La Concha shell of its heyday, the backyard to this museum is where the visual treasures lie. There are old signs from the major hotspots from back in the day when the Rat Pack ruled entertainment and mobs controlled the casinos. The tour guide that led our night tour was extremely informative and chock full of information, right down to the historical aspects of archiving. She pointed out how signs themselves were reflective of the time period, according to what could be formed as well as the types of tubes utilized in the signs. I've done both the day and night tour now, but I feel that the night tour gives one a better perspective on how cool the signs must have been when they were still active. We were able to walk here from Fremont Street during the day but at night, I'd advise either taking a taxi or Uber as the area gets a little sketchy and there was police activity on the streets as well as the liquor store on the corner. However, once we were finished, our Uber driver was there in 4 minutes so we didn't have to wait long, plus local security was onsite.
