My husband and I stayed at Homewood Suites in Concord last night. While we had absolutely no complaints about the room, we did not get a good night's sleep. The fire alarm went off for the first time around 4 am. I called the front desk to see if we needed to evacuate and was told that we did not. I had just gotten back to sleep when the fire alarm went off a second time. Again I called the front desk and was told that we did not need to evacuate. This time the alarm stopped sounding after a moment or two but the flashing lights continued until we finally got dressed and went downstairs to see what was going on. As my husband and I emerged from the stairwell, we saw a fireman with an industrial fan attempting to blow smoke out of the corridors. I'm not sure that we were ever in danger, but I feel as though our safety may have been compromised by remaining in our room.
