| - I have to say, for how much I love almost everything that Steve Wynn touches, I was really disappointed with La Cave. Again, I think if my expectations weren't so high for the Wynn/Encore, perhaps my review would be better - but, La Cave, in comparison to many of the other fantastic restaurants in these hotels, was a real dud.
Just a few things I'll review..we had an 8:15 reservation and even though the place was more than half empty, we still waited for our table. Our server, who seemed quite aloof couldn't offer us much help with questions about some of the plates, so I got the feeling the food, if he had ever even tried it, wasn't that impressive to him either. Of the three plates we got, one including a flat bread - which is hard to mess up - none of them were really any good. We all get a dish we don't love sometimes...but, for all three to miss? Just surprising.
I will say, the wine was good and the price wasn't unreasonable - but, I do wish this had overall been a better experience. I had been wanting to try this place for a long time. Still glad I did....but will certainly be checking out different places in the future.
