  • A former co-worker and his wife were in Las Vegas for a convention, staying at The Encore (Wynn). They suggested trying Wing Lei as it was conveniently located and highly rated. The hostesses greeted me (I was first to arrive) and then my friends warmly. The décor is elegant particularly if you are fond of the color gold. It's February so the pomegranate trees outside were unfortunately bare. The service was impeccable starting with the often mentioned small chair for ladies purses. I did see a gentleman's soft-sided briefcase (or small duffel bag) on a mini chair so they do not discriminate. I had a Tsingtao, not sure of the price, and my friends split a bottle of red wine. They had a hard time fining one that as he said only cost two figures. We shared dumplings for an appetizer and chili shrimp, Mongolian beef, duck breast and pulled noodles for entrees. The dumplings were about average, the chili shrimp very fresh and tasty, the Mongolian beef could have been spicier, the duck not my favorite and the noodles good but a bit bland. Everything we tried was good but the portions would never be described as generous and this restaurant is expensive for what you get even for a Strip resort restaurant.
