| - Let me start out by saying I enjoyed staying at this hotel, but if you are expecting a Pirates of the Caribbean show or island theme don't bother. The Treasure Island was once a themed hotel, but has upgraded its look for a more adult atmosphere. Now, while researching places to stay in Las Vegas, I wanted somewhere nice and in close proximity to everything. I think this was a great choice.
The rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom was a good size and had plenty of counter space. The beds were comfortable with clean linens. The television channels were vast. The rooms were fitted with a refrigerator, microwave and a surprisingly large closet. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very long check-in line, but it was organized and I made my way to the front within minutes. I booked through AAA and we got a bunch of cool things (free drinks, free buffet, $20 off our next stay etc.) I used the free buffet deal and was pleasantly surprised by the meal. It was good and provided me with fuel to see the city. The hotel had several other restaurants ranging in price.
Now the fun part! The hotel was connected to.... wait for it...... Fashion Show Mall. I was in heaven. I love to shop and I was less than 20 feet away from mall. You could get to the mall from the inside of the hotel and bypass traffic (car and pedestrian). I don't gamble, but the casino looked lively. I will say the Treasure Island is not the hotel of choice for people under 30. If you choose to hang out in your hotel a little, then the crowd is a bit older.
The concierge and bellhop were all great. They were very helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is on Las Vegas Blvd and next to the Mirage, close to the Bellagio and not too far from Caesar's Palace. I share this because many of the best nightlife spots are located in those hotels.
I think this is a great choice for Las Vegas. The price was reasonable and the location was ideal for me. I never plan on spending an inordinate amount of time in my hotel while in Las Vegas, but if I did, I wouldn't mind spending a day indoors at Treasure Island.
