This Sobeys is my home store. In fact it's right across the street from my home. I've been shopping here regularly for more than 2 years. It's not all that new and big but has everything I need. I always like the produce at Sobeys. It's fresh and usually reasonably priced. The rest of the store is what you'd expect from a great grocery store.
Sobeys puts out a flyer every week. The sale starts on Thursday. I check the flyer (online) to see what's on sale. They have great sales and I love it when they have Dollar Days. You can get all kinds of things for a dollar or two.
This location as with most of the Sobeys I've been to have everything I want or need. Their produce is always fresh and there's a good variety. They have kohlrabi which not every store sells. (it's kind of like a turnip/radish but better). Their bakery is quite good. One of my favorites is their low fat mountain grain bread. Always so fresh and tasty. I buy most of my meat at Sobeys because the quality is really good and the prices are lower than Safeway and Co-op. The deli here is fantastic. There's also a nice selection of pre-packaged fresh entrees like chicken fettucini, Chinese food, and what I consider to be one of the best butter chicken I have ever tasted. They used to sell it separately in the deli but now it only comes pre-packaged. I often buy flowers here when they are on sale. At Easter and Mother's Day they had really nice tulips on sale. The rest of the store offers everything else you would find at a grocery store: dry and canned goods, a small pharmacy, dairy, there's even a coffee shop and Canada Post in this location. The post office is a whole other deal which I won't get into since it's not managed by Sobeys.
Outside during Christmas, this location sells Christmas trees. They are usually well priced. During spring/summer, you can find bedding plants, hanging baskets, and potting soil. This year they have some beautiful potted roses that I'm hoping will go on sale. The rest of the plants seemed fairly well priced and they're nice quality. I have bought annuals here a number of times.
The service here is usually pretty good. There is one cashier who's really slow and another young girl who isn't all that friendly but the managers and supervisors that I've had to deal with are always helpful and friendly.
I would recommend Sobey's to anyone.
