| - This place is almost perfect! They still get 5 stars although they're not. So I came here to relax. I needed a room fairly quickly and found this place on hotels.com. I'm excited just thinking back to my stay haha.
So I made my reservations on hotels.com, because you get a very small price break, it's about $5-10 bucks less than reserving through the actual hotel. After I made the reservation, I called the location I was staying at to confirm. The lady on the phone was very helpful. I went ahead and asked her if I'd owed anything thing else because hotels usually take on secret fees haha. To my surprise she said I was all set.
So I go to the hotel the day I am to check in, check in is at 2p.m I believe. It was an extremely fast process. All I did was sign my receipt and get my key. I asked the gentleman if I owed anything, because again...the simplicity of it all was so new to me. He assured me that everything was paid and I was all set.
My room was on the second floor. Upon arriving I did notice the outside was clean, but it had a bag of trash by the back entrance, and a few strange looking folks. The neighborhood is nice though, pretty convenient to everything. The outside doors didn't require the use of your room key and I didn't like that too much. I went up the stairs to the second floor because the elevators are located all the way in the front near the check in area. The stairway was pretty messy and loud.
Finding my room was a cinch. Upon entry I was overjoyed! I still couldn't believe that I'd gotten this place for $46 bucks per night. The bathroom was clean and huge, and I had not one, but two king beds to myself haha. The bed was nice and comfy and there was a nice flat screen t.v on the dresser. The room came with an a.c./heating unit that was very easy to operate. Each room also comes with a safe for your higher end belongings.
Needless to say, I couldn't stay in this room for another night. = ( I could tell once I settled in that I was in a room under children because when I showered for bed, I started to hear all sorts of non stop running and stomping. That night I kept the t.v on and put on my head phones in order to drown them out, as they never stopped. (Horrible parenting by the way, take the children to play or rent a first level if they must run at midnight)
The next morning, I advised the front desk and with no hesitations they placed me in another room, on the third floor. I was happy since this hotel only had three levels. My new room, wasn't so nice sadly. Walking down the hall smelled as if someone had bypassed the rules and decided to smoke. My room didn't seem cleaned at all because there was still trash in the waste basket and someone's note on the bed side table. The floor had a large dark stain and the bathtub was kind of dingy looking. The a.c unit was also dated. On top of that, the prior guest had locked the safe, so I had to travel that day with my laptop until they were able to open it.
All in all, the setbacks were nothing compared to the excellent customer service, and the quality that you're receiving for the price that you pay. I should say, there are no microwaves or kitchens in the units. There is also no continental breakfast. But it's clear these are not options because they are able to make this place relaxing without charging you for amenities that you may not use. So give this place a stay, you won't regret it. The manager is a very nice lady, the cleaning staff and front desk staff are very kind as well.
