  • AAA's towing "service" is a fraud. A friend had a slide-off in snow and ice near Flagstaff, and called AAA, who said they would not help because she was "off-road!" No kidding - she slid off the freeway! I towed her out with a little Toyota Tacoma and a rope. I checked, and the "off - road" excuse is official AAA policy. When they say "roadside assistance," they mean within inches of the road! My State Farm auto insurance has towing assistance included, couldn't be any worse (obviously!). AAA is worthless.
