| - I've reviewed so many businesses in this magnificent market neighbourhood, it's high time I review Kensington Market herself.
TO is a city of neighbourhoods, and though Christie Pits, Queen W and Parkdale are staples of mine, Kensington really is my Toronto. It has been my fridge, my best friend's closet, my liquor cabinet, my rowdy party and my peaceful park. I love her unconditionally.
If you're looking for a tattoo, a falafel wrap, a poodle skirt, or a pitcher of sangria this is your one stop shop. I am counting down the days until the thaw, when kooky Kensington can return to my weekly routine.
For my money, here are her best businesses:
+Rasta Pasta, delicious jerk chicken
+Courage My Love, beautiful vintage clothes and drawers and drawers of buttons
+Last Temptation, cheap drinks in the sun
+Army Surplus, I don't care what your opinion on the armed forces is, sometimes you need some sturdy boots, a pea coat or something weird to put on a shelf
+Hooked, have an oyster while you buy some ethical seafood to bring home
