  • This has got to be one of the worst Best Buy locations I've ever had the displeasure of shopping at. For years Best Buy has been like my adult equivalent of Toys R Us was to me as a kid. Its been my favorite place to be, even just to windowshop and dream of all the cool stuff I want to buy. I've been to this location several times and without fail, every time I've been here the number of customer service associates available is bare minimum, their product knowledge is laughable, and on past visits the associates were just plain rude. The last time I was here prior to this I had just bought a newly released LG V10 cellphone and came to the store to buy a case. Best Buy caters more to Apple phones as far as widest range of accessories and when I politely asked if they had a case for my new phone they of course did not. Ok, newly released product so I get it... The annoying part was that I asked the associate if he knew when they might start carrying accessories for it he replied" probably never, because if I haven't heard of it it must be some generic model and not a flagship product". As if he was the end all authority and knowledge keeper regarding cell phone technology. He then simply turned around and walked away without another word. This attitude coming from a store whose employees have gradually gone from being relatively tech savvy and specialized, to the current range of employees who can only regurgitate whatever is printed on the packaging of a specific item. It is pathetic how little product knowledge the vast majority of the associates here lack. And that's not necessarily their fault, but the fault of management who obviously are not empowering their staff to improve sales by become product knowledge experts as they should be. The ONLY reason I bought here today was purely financial because the prices on appliances were actually low compared to other stores. I will definitely admit that. That is the only reason I spent over $4,000 here buying a dishwasher, stove, microwave and refrigerator in one shot. They have a package deal where if you buy all four items (and shell out a ton of cash) then you get an extra 10% off the overall purchase. The catch is that all 4 appliances must be from the same manufacturer. The problem is, often times different manufacturers have higher rated items depending on the category. For example this means you are stuck getting a lower rated Refrigerator in order to get a higher rated stove in a package deal. Every store I've dealt with always has the power to wiggle even just a small amount within reason to make a deal happen with a customer and make them feel valued. I was very surprised when the sales associate told me that both the store manager as well as the department supervisor refused to honor the package discount unless all 4 appliances were the same brand. I do understand that they probably receive a kickback from the manufacturer that offsets the discount, and that kickback is probably contingent upon meeting the criteria of all 4 items being the same brand. What disappoints me is that neither the Store manager, department manager, or sales associate cared enough about earning my business to even discuss the matter with me before flat out refusing to work with me. The associate was polite but had zero understanding of the appliances he was selling other that what was printed on the sales tags. I asked about buying an accessory and he had no idea what it was and had to Google it to understand. The accessory was a broiler pan....for the broiler....which is used to broil food like steaks or chicken on....which is a featured option on the stove....like 3/4 of all the other stoves they sell there. Seriously....had to Google it. Anyhow that's about it. Overall the experience just left me with very dissatisfied. I even made it known to the associate I wasn't happy about the managers refusing to work with me. No offer to speak to them. I went to the front of the store to get his name from the store information sign, I looked around the store to find him unsuccessfully. Nobody seemed to care. So if you want people who don't know anything more than you do about the products they sell to not care whether or not you buy those products, be sure and stop on by and they will help...maybe. P.S. I had the appliances delivered and installed by Best Buys contracted delivery guys (XPO Last mile) and the team who did the install were careful, polite, and efficient. They were at least awesome.
