| - I rounded UP to 3 stars because, and solely because, of the chopped salad - definitely the best salad I've ever had at a restaurant.
Now that I've gotten the only redeeming quality of CPH out of the way (our server was pretty good, too), let's discuss the negatives:
1. The tap water is nasty. I work in downtown Phoenix. The water downtown tastes like the CPH water... in desperate need of filtration. At my workplace, we use Sparklett's delivery because the water is unpalatable. CPH needs to address this issue at once, especially since, as I read in an earlier review, CPH apparently won't let you bring in "outside water." So, you're forced to drink swill prettied up in a silver pitcher, or buy a drink (it would be ironic if they had bottled water for sale).
2. The pork shank was REALLY porky, and REALLY smoky, and the fingerling potatoes were way overdone. By the third bite, the dish was no longer enjoyable.
3. It's 2016. Foie gras and veal?
4. If you look at their online menu and think, geez, can the prices get much higher? The answer is yes. Yes they can. And they just recently rolled out a new menu with new prices - they haven't even updated their online menu yet. Their meatloaf is $2 more, chicken dish is $4 more, and that incredible chopped salad is $1 more.
I would come back for the chopped salad over and over - but maybe I'll try it at the Gladly (CenPho tap water is much easier on the palate).
