They have a great healthy rice bowl, excellent sandwiches and also tomato soup & salad. The chocolate cake is rich and tasty as well. I've been here several times and always had great food and service. They also have live music on Sundays starting around 10am/10:30am.
I was flying to Arizona from California regularly on business and pleasure and had heard about this place from locals.
The only tip I have for the restaurant that I hope they can improve upon is that this past Sunday I came at lunch time and it was busy. I sat down at the empty extra large table by the window to wait for my smaller table to open up (it didn't take very long) but the hostess came over and told me she needed that table and asked me to wait outside in the 110 degree weather instead. Didn't really make me feel that welcomed and while I realize that locals probably think 110 degree weather is normal, in San Francisco we rarely get a day above 70 degrees. Luckily, the wait wasn't too long so I didn't die of heat stroke in front of the restaurant but I think one idea is to offer someone a glass of water (no ice, in that kind heat) if you need them to wait outside or figure out some extra chairs or small area indoors where people can wait.
