| - Mystere is traditional Cirque du Soleil at its best. This is CdS' first show that they created as a permanent show (the previous shows were housed in a tent which travelled every few weeks), in residence at Treasure Island and has been going strong for over 20 years!
From a pure circus arts point of view (I've dabbled in aerials and flying trapeze in the past, so I know what is actually difficult vs. easy but showy), this show is my favourite of all the Cirque du Soleil shows I've seen. There is a higher percentage of circus acts in this show than others, and the acts are all technically outstanding - especially the flying trapeze, Chinese poles and bungee acts. Sure, it lacks the music of The Beatles' Love or Michael Jackson:One, the story of Ka, or the unique water element of O, but in my opinion this is the best show that displays what Cirque du Soleil is all about (and best show for any circus students/artists to actually see some awesome circus acts if any happen to be reading this!).
The theatre is big - I recommend sitting in the centre towards the middle or back (I sat in section 203 and it gave a great view). Bonus is that since the show has been going on for a long time, it is usually the cheapest Vegas Cirque show and you can always find either a discount code at the Treasure Island website, at the Tix4Tonight booths around Vegas, or Travelzoo/similar discount ticket sites. You should be able to get a decent ticket for $75-100, service fees included. Enjoy!
