It's been a while since I've eaten at Off the Strip. They were on my top 10 favs. So it seemed like the perfect choice after a game to take some friends for dinner.
I made reservations for 8-and waited till 8:30 to be seated.
I had to settle the bar bill before I sat down as it couldn't be transferred over and that took another 10 minutes while I stood there trying to hand her the signed check.
Anyway, to the point-my favorite braciole is still terrific, but I ordered 2 orders and got one plate w/4-only 2 per order? Maybe I'm wrong but wasn't there 3 before?
There are no longer any veal options available and it seems other items have been removed from the list.
The quaint menu board over the kitchen that previously listed the menu and specials is now filled with promotional messaging-like happy hour, football etc.
One of the meals the spinach was in limbo between just pulled from the earth to thrown in the pan and pulled. A sauce was over the veggies which was just no good.
They removed that entree and threw in a cheesecake so 5 star for their attempt to rectify the situation to the best.
My guest didn't even eat their entree and had it boxed after a couple bites politely stating she was full.
I'm just sad that OTS may be succumbing to the typical "started out as a hole in the wall" to grow too big for their britches losing sight of what differentiated them vs others.
There is a new place steps from there called Spaghetti Western which interested me and I have to say I'll try them next time I'm in the Southern Highlands area before heading back to OTS.
