| - This place continues to underwhelm. Yet, I continue to be forced to go here with family (party of 6, 9, and 7 respectively) who like it for some reason. This was my last time. This is a detailed review not for the faint of heart. Continue at your own risk. Overall points of interest are toward the end.
The Ugly Truth about my last THREE visits:
Three visits in a row my order has been messed up. The last two I ended taking an undercooked steak home in a box because the kitchen can't manage to cook a medium rare OR a medium steak properly. How hard is that to do? 4 steak in two visits, first two were ordered medium but presented burnt/charred at Well Done level then replaced with RARE ones which I took home and cooked properly later. Each of the last 3 visits I ended up filling up on apps, sides, and a couple bites of desert. I've tried different cuts (Filet and Ribeye) but it made no difference. I always order my steaks from here with seasoning added because they are extremely bland if you do not.
Overall:
APPEARANCE/AMBIANCE - D-
Restaurant looks like a hole in the wall from the exterior and the layout of the interior isn't much better. It's always EXTREMELY loud inside because it's a small restaurant. Back patio is a little better than the front. I would NOT take a date here expecting a quiet romantic evening.
SERVICE - A -
has always been excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and timely. Table is pre-bussed, food arrives neatly and timely, tempo is always nearly perfect.
FOOD QUALITY/TASTE - C
Appetizers are good quality and taste great but I believe are overpriced. We love the shrimp cocktail but it's on the expensive side.
Salads and dressing are very nominal. I've had better at lesser places.
Steaks are good quality but bland unless you order it seasoned... Then pray it's cooked properly.
Lobster was overcooked and rubbery
Deserts are all excellent. Haven't had one I didn't like. But by the time I've gotten to this point on each of the last 3 visits my meal has been ruined.
KITCHEN - F - details are posted above. 3 visits in a row with something on my order not cooked properly. NOT acceptable anywhere.
COST- overpriced for what this place is. They should invest some money in kitchen help and COMPLETE renovation.
Personally, I would save your money and go to Longhorn, Texas Roadhouse, etc or spend a little more and go to any one of the big chains (Ruth's Kris, Mortens, etc) Hope this helps someone decide where (or where not) to go for dinner.
